Piet de Bruyn's Obituary
Piet de Bruyn, 89, of Escondido, California passed away January 21, 2026. He was born in the Netherlands, and immigrated to the United States in 1982. He was a successful nurseryman who loved the outdoors and gardening. He tended a nice avocado grove at his home, and created a beautiful cactus garden. Piet loved reading, especially history and World War II books. His favorite pastime was hunting with his father, grandfather, and brothers. In retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world, and camping all over the western United States. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Johanna, sons Wim (Annette), John (Dawnyel), and daughter Sandra (Dave). He also was blessed with 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
