Jacqueline Schmidt's Obituary
On September 3, 2024, Jacqueline Schmidt passed peacefully in her home, in Escondido CA, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born June 22nd, 1935 in Snelling California to Elen Ruth Harding(d.1976) and Jacbo(Jack)Schmidt(d.1971). She was the oldest of the four siblings. Robert Schmidt (d.2015), Steven Schmidt(d.2022), Philip Schmidt(d. 2022). She always said, " I want jto live to see the second coming of Christ and make it to the age of 104." but God had other plans. She loved her brothers deeply, and went on to take multiple trips to go see them wherever they were throughout the years, along with the weekly phone calls to keep in touch.
In 1956 she graduated from the Hospital for Children Training School for Nurses in San Francisco California. As a nurse, she would go on to spend 46 years in the nursing profession, serving and caring for others, eventually retiring at age 69. She spent at least 35 years of that time working at Palomar Hospital in Escondido, California. There she met several wonderful nursing coworkers that became good friends who would go on to stay in touch well into their 80's. While in San Francisco she met and married Donald Brisbin(d. 1983) and moved to Compton, California and then onto Escondido, California by 1967.
Throughout the years she was blessed with 3 beautiful children, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren;(dtr) Joan Bedlion(Jim): grandchildren; Kenneth Arron(Yerlin), Amy Searles (Dakota) great grandchildren; Felicity, Phineas, Xaiver. Emily Grosswieler(Dieter), Ruthanna Bedlion. (son)Jack Brisbin (Lu), grandchildren: Dominic Brisbin(Danesa) great grandchildren; Alessandra, Raina & Keira. Joshua Brisbin(Magdalena Starringer), Ian H. Brisbin(d.2020), Waldon Brisbin. (dtr) Ellie Rice, grandchildren; Charlize Rice and Logan Rice.
Jackie, as she went by, loved to pursue spiritual aspects throughout her life and in her later years found Christ to bring her the healing and peace she was seeking. She loved to pray for her family, friends and whoever's name we kids brought her to pray over. She saw multiple answers to her prayers throughout the years. Church was precious to her and she loved singing God's word. It was a time to feel completely wrapped in love, where she could let go and raise her hands to heaven in pure Joy. She loved nature, spending as much time as she could running or walking in its beauty. Animals were always a part of her life, with either a dog or a cat by her side. In her Death, she wanted to be with her brothers. Her ashes of this world will be laid to rest back home in Waterford CA but not her soul is home with Jesus. We will see you again Mom!
A Graveside service will be held on April 19th, 2025 at Roberts Ferry Cemetery in Waterford, CA at 10:00am and a Celebration of Life to follow.
