Foche "Bud" Fuselier's Obituary
Foche Allenbay “Bud” Fuselier Jr., 64, of Escondido, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday February 15, 2014.
He was born on August 17, 1949 in Pasadena, Texas, eldest son of the late Florence Metreyeon and Foche Fuselier Sr. Bud graduated from Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, CA. where he was a standout athlete in football, tennis, baseball and debate. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and obtained a Master’s of Science Degree in Systems Management, Development and Testing from the University of Southern California.
Bud enlisted in the Navy in 1968, giving 21 years of his life to his country, retiring as a Lieutenant Junior Grade. During his military career he received several Republic of Vietnam medals, two Navy Unit Commendations, a Presidential Unit Citation, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, a Gallantry Cross with Palm, a Battle “E” Award, three Good Conduct Medals, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, two Letters of Commendations, and a Presidential Certificate of Appreciation of Military Service.
While stationed abroad in Rome, Italy, he met his wife of almost 40 years, Patricia Ann (Solomon) Fuselier. They were married on July 27, 1974 in Naples, Italy.
Bud was an aerospace engineer and financial advisor who worked for Lockheed Martin, Boeing Corporation, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
Bud is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Escondido, CA; daughter, Ginna Bertheau and husband Torrey, of Warrenton, OR; son, Christopher Fuselier and wife Kim, of Yorba Linda, CA; son, Ryan Fuselier, of New York, NY; granddaughter, Madeleine Bertheau; step mother, Ann Fuselier, of Reno, NV; sister, Carrol Smith and husband Bob, of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Rene Berg and husband Peter, of Tahoma, CA.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Fuselier and Benjamin Fuselier.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, located at 225 South Broadway, Escondido, CA. 92025.
