I was lucky enough to meet Mrs Esperanza as a young girl and am grateful I did. She watched me and my sister grow and always supported us no matter what. Visiting her was always such a blessing and comfort as she always made us feel safe and asked us the important questions when needed. Growing up, I am very thankful for her advice and opinions as she had made me reflect on my plans for the future to ensure I had a stable plan that I would not regret.

I am forever thankful for all the times we spent with her and pray for the immediate family that may God guide you through this season of hurt.

My beloved Esperanza, I will truly miss you. I would always look forward to seeing and talking to you. In the 30 years as your hairdresser, I grew to love you as a mother. It is hard for me to accept you are no longer with us. Rest in peace my sweet angel. I will always think of you and love you.

I met Mrs. Esperanza Mcguigan when she was teaching ESL classes at San Diego High School on 1996. I was a teenager in that time and I was doing two jobs to support my family. And I remember that sometimes I was really tired in her class but she was very understanding and kept me motivated to make sure I was learning the information that she was teaching. She retired from SDHS in 2000 that is the same year that I graduated too. Since then we stablished a solid and beautiful friendship and from being just another of her students, I became like a member of her family. We share great and sad moments from the year 2000 until she passed away. She met my mother before she passed ways and I met Mr. Jim her husband and her beautiful mom Mrs. Gerardita Salazar who was adorable before they passed away too. We both cried and comfort each other when our loved ones left this world. And now with my broken heart I have to say goodbye to her forever. THANK YOU very much Mrs. Esperanza Mcguigan for the friendship and affection you gave me during all this time, you will always live in my heart😭❤️. i am so sorry for your loss. Even though I never met Esperanza. I feel like I knew her thru her daughter Lorie. It was nice to learn more about her story.
She overcome a lot of challenges in her life.
An amazing strong lady. Supported by a wonderful family. She'll be dearly misses by her family. I hope that you can find peace knowing she's in a beautiful place with God.
