Doris Ann Parry's Obituary
Doris Ann Parry was born on October 15, 1945 to Ellery and Alice DeSanto in Washington, D.C. She came to San Diego, CA where she met and fell in love with her loving and devoted husband, Carl. They were married on October 25, 1964 and were together for a total of forty-nine and a half memorable, blessed years. Doris was an amazing woman, wife, and mother of two children, Carl (married to Lisa) and Cassandra (married to Scott).
Her heart being so full of God’s Love she devoted 35 years of her life at Living Way Church where she blessed the congregation with her beautiful voice singing and leading worship. She loved to help whoever was in need, whether it be in the church office, or at an orphanage in Tijuana. She went on mission trips to both Japan and China where she helped smuggle in Bibles to those in need. She believed firmly in the glorious message of Salvation in Jesus Christ and in the Everlasting Love of God.
She was store manager of the Poway McDonalds for 5 years generously spending her money on her children and grandchildren. She had to quit due to health issues. Doris was the proud grandparent of 5 grandchildren, Lauren (married to Dustin), Ashley, Dallas, Chelsea (1992-2006), and Isaac. She was the proud great-grandparent of Owen, Bentley, Harleigh, Skyla, and Zane. On May 18th she was admitted to the hospital due to a sudden cardiac arrest. On May 19th she passed away but not until all her awaited family members were able to stand by her bedside. Doris was a most beautiful woman with a loving soul, a gentle spirit, a kind and caring heart, and a genuine listening ear. Her cute and fun humor could lighten up any dismal day. We love her so much! God Bless the soul of Doris Ann Parry forever and always.
Memorial services will be held at Living Way Church, 13609 Twin Peaks Road, Poway, CA 92064, on Friday, May 23 at 11:30am. There will be an open casket viewing prior to the service on Thursday, May 22 from 3pm -6pm at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, 225 South Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025.
