Christopher Van Johnson's Obituary
Christopher Van Johnson, 53, of San Diego, California quietly passed away at his home on May 8th, 2022. He is survived by parents Jerry and Kay Johnson of Escondido, California; daughter Kaylie Rose Pravik, married to Cameron Pravik of Pasadena, Maryland; daughter Christy Beth Johnson and her son Christopher McGinnis of San Diego, California; son Jacob Van Johnson of San Diego, California; sister Tiffany Johnson Greenlay, married to William Greenlay; nephew Christopher Greenlay; niece Catherine Greenlay of Ridgefield, Connecticut; special friend, Sandra Gamez Ross of Imperial, California. Van grew up and attended school in Southern California’s Imperial Valley, where he participated in 4-H and Future Farmers of America. He was a star athlete excelling in baseball and in national BMX racing, to which his many awards can attest. After graduating from Central Union High School, Van attended Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona where he studied HVAC. An expert in his trade, and a connected member of his community, he built a successful air-conditioning and heating business, in San Diego. Van loved horses and celebrated many winners with his partners at Pay Me Stables. He loved entertaining, grilling, spending time with family and friends, and rooting on the Padres and Steelers. Van cared deeply for others and always offered a helping hand to anyone who needed one. Cherished and held deeply in the hearts of his family and friends, Van will be remembered and missed.
The gravesite service will be held on May 20th, 2022 at 10:30AM at Valley Center Cemetery located at 28953 Miller Road, Valley Center, California 92082.
