William Loren Baker's Obituary
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Ethel (Vash) Baker; his daughter, Cheryl Venable; son, Loren Baker; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; brothers, Edward Baker and Donald Baker; sister, Maxine Pieron (JJ); brother-in-law, Eugene Schnur; and by many loving nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Schnur. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1937 through 1945 at the end of WWII. He and his family moved to Escondido from Peoria, ILL., in 1959. He worked for General Dynamics as an electronics electrician for 28 years. He was a devoted member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Adult III Sunday School Superintendent. In his retirement years, he loved to travel, making trips to the Holyland, Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse, or to Bethel Baptist Church.
