Wanda Louise Willis' Obituary
Wanda Louise Foster Willis, 90, of Escondido, CA, went to be with the Lord September 18, 2017.
She was born January 26, 1927, in Thackerville, OK, the sixth of eight children, to Charles and Blanche Foster. She graduated from high school in Barstow, CA, and married her high school sweetheart, Richard Anton Willis DVM in June of 1947. They were still holding hands and totally devoted to one another 70 years later. They were blessed with three daughters, one son, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Wanda enjoyed Bible studies, gardening, cooking, traveling, a good joke, and spending time with her friends and family. She had a gift for taking care of others and made everyone feel special.
Wanda is survived by her husband, her three daughters, Glenda Porter of Lugoff, SC, Helen Taylor of Prescott, AZ, Judy Allen of Escondido, one son, Richard D. Willis of Clarkesville, TN., three grandchildren: Corrie Amador of Escondido, Joshua Allen of Scottsdale, AZ and Madison Willis of Clarkesville, TN, and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Marcine Trapp of Poway, and Ruth Holly of Bakersfield, CA, and one brother, Buddy Foster of Apple Valley, CA.
A memorial service for Wanda will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 2, at Silverado Memory Care at 1500 Borden Road, Escondido, CA 92026. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s San Diego or Insight for Living, ministry of Charles Swindoll.
