Violet Joslin's Obituary
Our beloved mother, Violet Joslin, passed away peacefully at her residence in Sacramento County, California on April 28, 2025 at the age of 93.
She was born in Los Angeles, California to Hans Peter and Hazel Cora (Powers) Scott on March 14, 1932, living out most of her life in Escondido, California.
Violet was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping trips, crafting, cooking, painting and reading mystery novels. She had a great fondness for animals, and cats, dogs and hummingbirds gravitated towards her seeming to know the kind gentle touch that awaited. Her smile always radiated whenever she encountered children, and she never failed to notice the beauty around her when outdoors. For her, it was the simplest things in life that brought her pleasure.
Violet endured a great deal of personal loss and challenge throughout her lifetime yet her light never dimmed. Her loving, kind and caring heart continued to shine through, and her beautiful welcoming smile was a gift to all she greeted.
Violet is preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Williams, and her second husband, Ralph Joslin, and son, John Williams. She is also preceded in death by four sisters, Marion Hatlestad, Virginia Hatlestad, Beverly Eldridge, and Dixie Bryan, and three brothers, Carl Scott, Armond Scott and Jerry Scott, as well as many other cherished family members and friends.
She is survived by her son David (Melody) Williams and daughter Lynne (Bill) Toti.
A private burial will be held at Oak Hill Memorial Park on June 24.
In her later years that were accompanied with physical challenges, mom would sometimes say, “I don’t know why they call these the golden years!” Well, mom, they are most assuredly golden for you now that you’re in heaven with the Lord and all your loved ones who preceded you. Thank you, mom, for a lifetime of unconditional love, support, and wonderful memories that we will always cherish!
