Vernon "Ace" Gregory's Obituary
Vernon "Ace" Gregory peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Born and raised in Nowata, Oklahoma, he entered the United States Army upon high school graduation. He served proudly during WWII. After the war, he met the love of his life, Mildred and they married in 1961. Ace worked as a heavy equipment operator at the Naval Weapons Station in Fallbrook for 35 years. His passion for life was being a horseman. Ace is survived by his son, William Gregory (Kim); stepson, Mark Barbee (Lynn); sister, Lucy Pettit; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandcildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; and stepson, Thomas Barbee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ace's honor to Wounded Warriors Project.
