VERA ANNE PETERSON
JULY 20, 1936- DECEMBER 8, 2016
Heaven has gained another angel. Vera passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Thursday, December 8, 2016.
Vera was born on July 20, 1936 in New York City and grew up in Yonkers and Highland Falls, New York. She later attended design school and was a successful seamstress for Singer in New York City. Vera married the love of her life, Ralph Peterson on October 24th, 1959 and together raised five children. After moving to California in 1981, the couple owned and operated Peterson’s Donut Corner in Escondido for the last 35 years.
Vera is survived by her five children; son Ralph Peterson Jr. of Escondido, daughter VeraEllen Bruno and husband Kevin Bruno of Hemet, son Michael Peterson of Ramona, daughter Maureen Perkins of Escondido, and son Stephen Peterson of Escondido. Vera was the proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren ,4 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
Vera will be laid to rest with her beloved husband of 53 years. Services for Vera are scheduled for:
