Vera Lyles' Obituary
Vera Lyles, a long time Escondido resident, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012. Mrs. Lyles was born on a farm on March 15, 1923 in Pigeon, Mich. She and her husband, Elvin M. Lyles, moved to Escondido in 1970. They joined the First United Methodist Church which had been her family's church until her death. Vera worked as a teller at Bank of America for 16 years until her retirement. After retir She is survived by step-daughter, Shirley Dickman; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude, Mildred and Greta; and sister-in-law, Doris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin in 1976; two sisters; and a brother. In lieu of the flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Vera's name to either the First United Methodist Church, 341 S. Kalmia St., Escondido, CA 92025, or to the Lightbridge Hospice Community Foundation, www.lightbridgehospice.
