Tracy J. Chapman's Obituary
Tracy J. Chapman passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012, with his loving family and friends at his side. Born February 10, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived in Valley Center and Escondido for most of his life. He attended St. Mary School and Orange Glen High School where he was a top distance runner in cross country and track and field. Tracy was an electrician. He spent most of his adult life as a Type 1 diabetic, the last few years on dialysis. He received his long awaited pancreas and kidney transplant in February 2012, but died suddenly from complications. Tracy is survived by his parents, Bill and Marge Chapman; daughter, Rachel Chapman; son, Jared Chapman; brother, Duane Chapman; sister, Hilary Beasley and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016. Please consider becoming an organ donor.
