Timothy Lee Freeman's Obituary
Timothy Lee Freeman passed away on April 16, 2014 at the age of 54. He was killed
instantly after being involved in a traffic collision on Interstate 15 while returning home
form work. Tim graduated from Escondido High School in 1978. He joined the Army
and became a US Ranger, airborne division. When he was honorably discharged
in 1983 he was a corporal. He studied to become a locksmith and graduated from
the Belsaw Institute of Locksmithing in 1984. He had expertise in over 30 disciplines
of locks, safes, and alarm systems. He worked at B&B lock in Escondido for many
years. Later, he went on to obtain his Associate of Arts degree in computer science
from Palomar College.
Tim is the middle child of three children. He was quiet and soft-spoken. He had
an easy almost childlike way about him. Kind and caring, helpful and giving are
words friends use to describe Tim. His hobbies included magic, chess, scuba diving and
backpacking. Tim was working for SKF in San Diego as a software engineer. In recent
years he had taken an interest in Japanese culture and language. He had made two trips
recently to Japan and was planning to wed his girlfriend Mika Nakata of Ako, Japan at
the end of this year. she had plans to move to Escondido and start her life with Tim. The
last two years of Tim's life he seemed to be the happiest he had ever been, especially
with Mika.
Tim resided in Escondido. He is survived by his mother, Ann Freeman of Escondido, his father
don Freeman of Cathedral City, California, his brother Jeff Freeman of Escondido and his
sister Cindy Rich of Lind, Washington.
Tim will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido.
