Mr. Candelario is survived by his wife of 47 years, Haydee; his daughter, Wanda Chenier; and grandchildren, Tara Chenier and Thomas Chenier; and fourteen siblings, Maria Luisa, Aida Luz, Margarita, Esther, Mercedes, Amparo, Iris, Andres, Antonio, Carlos, Waldy, Oscar, Javier, and Carlos-Javier. He was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico to humble beginnings, he moved to New York City in 1957 to find better employment to help his large family.
