Steven C. Barbosa's Obituary
May you be lifted by wings of love
And shine your light down from above
Guide our ships on unsure seas
Until again we meet with thee
And when that time seems far too long
I’ll fondly recall your life’s song
And sing its tune of memories
Drop by drop ‘til I’ve filled the seas
For this is not the Final End
Just a pause until we meet again

Steven Christopher Barbosa was born Oct 11, 1996 in Escondido, Ca. He was the baby of the family, after Nikki, Mark and Josh. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran and later attended preschool there. The family later relocated to Carlsbad, where Steven attended kindergarten through high school. Steven was a talented athlete who played many sports. He especially loved baseball, soccer and snowboarding. As he grew older, golf became his passion. He spent many hours on the golf course with his father, brothers, uncles, cousins and friends. According to those in the know, these golf games with Steven were always memorable!
While shy and quiet as a youngster, Steven eventually grew out of that stage. As a teenager and adult, he became the “life of the party” and was often the first to say Hi, give hugs and make everybody feel welcome. Steven loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his nephew and two nieces. He loved sporting events with his Uncle Marty, morning kitchen time with him mom (concocting his “healthy” green shakes), workout time with his dad and pestering (encouraging) his mom to get in her daily walks. He loved the Chargers, family get togethers, pretty girls, classy drinks and the beach. And he loved beating his uncles at golf.
During this past year, Steven was very excited to be welcoming his new sister, Ashley, into the family and thrilled at the extravagant birthday party they were planning to throw for him…under the guise of a wedding. He will, no doubt, be looking down on this joyous event with a smile on his beautiful, bearded face.
