Silvio Steve Maiorano's Obituary
Silvio Steve Maiorano, 71, of Escondido, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, November 12, 2025. He was born April 9, 1954 in Guardia Piemontese, Italy, the youngest of six children born to Vincenzo and Gaetana. He was a devoted husband to Krys, and a loving father to Katie and Robert.
He came to the United States with his parents at age 8, settling in Ontario, California where he attended school and college. He earned an academic scholarship to Pomona College studying Linguistics and then attended Claremont Graduate University earning an MBA. After graduating he moved to Milan, Italy to work where he met his beloved wife Krys. They married in London, England before returning to Ontario, California to start their new life.
Silvio worked for over 40 years in the Finance industry. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family. He was an avid reader, spoke five languages and was interested in history, politics and current affairs. He enjoyed traveling and experiencing new cultures. He was a man of great integrity, kindness and generosity. He laughed a lot and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
His legacy will be carried on by Krys, his devoted wife of 44 years, his children Katie and Robert, son-in-law Ryan and grandsons Brooks and Jack. He was the best husband, dad and Nonno and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 4, at 11 a.m. at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to BCAN (Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network) or the American Cancer Society.
