Shirley is survived by her Son: Roger Hicks and wife, Louisa; Sisters: Gloria Cooper and her husband, Harry, and Sally Eckert. She also has two Grandchildren: Jessica Bennetts and Joshua Bennetts. Shirley lived in Escondido for 50 years and she was a receptionist at The North County Times newspaper here in Escondido.
