Shantal Consuelo Manjarrez's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Shantal, a.k.a. Connie, Manjarrez announces her passing on July 25, 2018 at the age of 92.
Shantal was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She spent most of her young life in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon where she worked as a pharmacist. That’s where she met and married her husband, Cesareo Manjarrez. After becoming a mother she dedicated her life to raising her family and wanted to give them the opportunities she did not have, so the family immigrated to the United States. Their first stop was Chicago, Ill where her mother and siblings lived, then to Texas, the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and finally to San Diego, California where she spent the remainder of her life. Her smile was glorious and infectious, and her personality made for a very winning combination. She had many interests, but in her latest years, she loved being a grandma and having and knowing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Among her interests was her love of birds and plants, going to the casino and not to mention watching her “Novelas”. Shantal lived a long life and will truly be missed by all.
She is survived by her daughters, Alma and Jazmin; her grandchildren Edward, Oscar, Bianca and Mikaila; her great grandchildren Donovan, Xavier, Sammy, Easton, Suki and Harper; her sister Julia, as well as all her nieces and nephews on both the Manjarrez and Velasco side, and her friends. She was predeceased by her husband (Cesareo), her mother (Concepcion), grandson (Adam) and two of her brothers (Eugenio and Jose).
