Mrs. Chess was preceded in death by her Parents: Benito Amago in 1977, Ruby Amago in 1986, Brothers: Edward Amago 1971, Ben Amago in 1997, and Ronnie Amago in 1986. She is survived her Son: Benny Chess and wife Pauline; Daughters: Rhonda McMichael and husband Dr. Herbert McMichael and Shani Chess; Brother: Ernie Amago; Sister: Viola Peck; four Grandchildren: Skye, Temet, Ben and Adam; and two Great Grandchildren: Sarah and Haley. She was a Tribal Operations officer for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 27 years at the La Jolla Indian Reservation. She enjoyed watching and feedng her birds, going to powwows and Chargers games.
