Ruth Athey's Obituary
Ruth Athey passed away on August 9, 2012. She passed very peacefully at home with her loving family at her side. She was born May 19, 1929 in Oklahoma. Ruth moved to Escondido in 1946 and lived in the same home on Gamble St. for over 50 years. She and her husband, Chet had just celebrated their 50th wedding aniversary when he passed in 1997. Ruth loved her family and having everyone together for the holidays. She kept busy as a homemaker and with gardening in her beautiful back yard. She had many friends at the American Legion and loved to participate in their activities. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Carolee Steneck and Debbie Humphrey; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; beloved relatives, James Athey and Ann McCroskey; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
