Ruben Gutierrez's Obituary
Ruben Gutierrez was born Dec. 31, 1933 in Eden Gardens, at that time part of Del Mar, CA. He
graduated from San Dieguito High School and enlisted in the US Army for 3 years. He served in
Korea and was honorably discharged in July of 1956. He married Eva on May 4, 1957.
He is survived by his beloved family, wife Eva of 59 yrs, daughters; Leticia Rodriguez (Newton),
Venecia Salazar (Ernest), Rubina Gutierrez, grandchildren; Evette Boaz (Steven), Evonne Limon
(Matt), Shea, Joseph, Martin & Isaac & great-grandchildren; Mia & Franky.
His sisters; Frances Escobedo and Rosemary Alto (Benny) and sister-in-law, Dahlia Gutierrez and
extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his son Rodrigo, his parents, Francisco and Juana, his sister Marta
(Abel) Castellanos, his brothers, Manuel, Rudy (Vera), Roy (Lola), Raul, Frank and his brother-in-law Bill Escobedo, Uncle John Zamora & other relatives
He dreamed of having a little ranch in Oregon with a few horses and cattle~
Services will be held at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido on April 7, 2017 starting at
11:45am with funeral at 2 pm at Oak Hill Cemetery.
