Rose Zelasko's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share that Rose Zelasko was called home.
Rose was a patient, kind, encouraging nurturer who touched the lives of many. For her, family was everything. Her children, grandchildren, students, and family friends were always held near and dear to her heart. While her memory of many events began to fade, her memory of those she loved and those who showed her kindness was never lost.

Rose was born in Manhattan, NY and was raised in the Bronx. While she called Escondido, CA home for over thirty-five years she was always proud to be a "New Yorker". She was equally proud of her San Diego home. Throughout her life, Rose played many roles, as a young professional in the secretarial pool, as a coordinator and program manager in the banking industry, and as the business owner of Ceramic Treasurers, but no role meant more than her than that of mom and teacher. After putting in a full day at work Rose could be found on the sidelines at Pop Warner or Little League as a team mom or working on projects as a classroom mom.
After raising four children, Rose became a first-time college student, earning her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development from Palomar College with a 4.0 GPA. She was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society, an achievement of which she was extremely proud. Rose went on to teach pre-school and was named Escondido's Pre-School teacher of the year. Showing kindness to and developing children was truly her passion and she continued to teach for over twenty years until her retirement at age seventy-six.
Rose was an award-winning artist who loved creating porcelain dolls, ceramics, pastel drawings, and watercolors. She enjoyed sharing her art with others and delighted in teaching, even volunteering time as a ceramics teacher at Escondido Christian School.
She never shied away from helping others. Rose was generous with her time, treasures, and love and deeply impacted the lives of many. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Stan. She leaves her daughter, Terri and husband Jim; daughter Jeanne and husband Curt, daughter Donna; son Jeff and wife Cathie and ten grandchildren Preston, Sarahy, Tabetha, AJ, Pierson, Trevor, Emma, Isabela, Zach, and Jackie who will miss her positive encouragement, kindness, and unconditional love every day.
Services will be held on November 4, 2019 at Alhiser-Comer in Escondido, CA at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or your favorite children’s charity.
