Traveling up the California coast in Rooks' new Cadillac, playing soothing music he loved and stopping at the lovely Apple Inn - that vacation is one of the best memories Flynt and I have of Rooks. He was so happy and relaxed. His zest for enjoying life made that vacation one of the best we ever had. Thank you, Rooks, and happy trails.
The best memories from my childhood took place at your house. Being with you and your family, your awesome dogs, the pool, friggin' indoor soccer stadium! Rooks, thank you for adding so many great memories to my life. You were a great guy, and I will miss you. Rest in peace, Uncle.

Condolences to the Salter Family, for your loss. May God bless you always and guide you to a place of peace.
While waiting for my sister Linda to get ready for their dates, I will always remember Rooks playing Jacks on the floor with my sister Patty and I. We wanted Linda to take her time so we could finish our game. When Patty and I were older, we would drive to Escondido to see Linda, Rooks and the boys and he would talk to us before coming and always said "Don't stop at Camp Pendleton, come directly to the house." we would always laugh with him. I will miss Rooks' stories, but I know he is no longer in pain. Rest in Peace Rooks. Love Bernard, Rose, Joshua and Jacob.
Happy trails, partner. Rooks loved everything western, especially Dale Evans and Roy Rogers! He even bought his boys a pony when they were young. We have many happy memories at the Salter home parties. The Lauas were the best. Everyone had fun participating in Rooks games! I will remember him as he was, vital, funny, and a loving husband to my little sister. Rest in Peace, Rooks.
I will miss my uncle very much. Linda said it all. He will truly be missed. Tammy
