Robert Eugene Mittag's Obituary
At age 83, Robert Eugene Mittag "Bob", passed away at the Lakeview Hospice Home on August 16, 2013. He was born on April 16, 1930 in Algona, Iowa to Emil Frederick Mittag and Eva Elizabeth Albright Mittag. Bob was number eight of ten children. He graduated from Lakota, Iowa High School in 1947. He and his brother, Jim, joined the Navy in 1948 and Bob served in the US Navy aboard the USS Hamul. After his Naval career, he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 36 years. Bob is a member of the Pikes Peak Grange #163 in Colorado and a member of Consuelo Masonic Lodge in Escondido. He is survived by his wife, Jan; his daughter, Debra Craig of Temecula; son, Durwood Mittag of Hemet; three grandchildren, Jarred and Larissa Craig of Temecula, and Chad Mittag of Valley Center; three step-daughters, Valarie Colgate, Sharon Cassidy (John)
