Robert Allan Gill's Obituary
Robert Allan Gill passed away on October 19, 2017. He was born in Peoria, IL to Chester J. and M. Bernadine (Wagner) Gill. He attended high school in Canoga Park, CA, and was a star on their gymnastics team. After high school he joined the US Navy. In 1963 he married Lorraine Januszewski and they had three children, Daniel, Shawn, and Vera.
Bob managed a camera store in Canoga Park, CA, and later became a sales rep for General Ribbon Corporation in Canoga Park, CA. He became the Vice President of Sales for General Ribbon Corporation for the areas of Orange County, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. When he retired from that, he moved to Escondido in 1976 and went into real estate, eventually going into full retirement.
He was a photographer in the Navy and he kept a love for it in his retirement by collecting cameras. There were over 60 cameras in his collection. He also loved car racing, old cars, and always was working on numerous home projects.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine and his children Daniel Gill of Escondido; Shawn (Amber) Gill of Yakima, WA; and Vera (Jose) Gracia of Hot Springs, AR. He is also survived by his dear friend Robert (Vivian) Maldonado of Escondido; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Charlotte Owens. He leaves six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Miramar National Cemetery at 9:00 am,
