Steve And Laura Tilton
Our hearts were heavy with the news of Dick’s passing. For over three decades, Dick and Jane have been more than friends – they've been a close part of our family. We met in 1992 when Laura and Jane worked countless hours together at Duke. Dick and Jane watched out for Laura, especially during her pregnancy, while Steve was on deployments. Their presence for the birth of our daughters created bonds that lasted a lifetime. To our girls, they are “Aunt Jane” and “Uncle Dick”, constants in their lives and present at so many of our family celebrations – from Thanksgiving feasts to birthday parties and numerous outings to Sweet Tomatoes and Sushi Thai.
We’ll always cherish the memory of when Dick graciously accepted an invitation to speak at a business fraternity event for Steve while attending NC State. He spent an hour discussing the EEOC, effortlessly engaging a room full of college students with his wit, charm, and profound knowledge. That was Dick – always generous with his time, always captivating with his words.
Dick was a remarkable man, and his loss is deeply felt. We are so grateful for the time we had with him and for the wonderful memories we created together. Jane, please know that we hold you and your family close in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy and all our love,
Steve, Laura, Brooke and Corrine
