Richard Lewis Hughes' Obituary
Richard "Dick" Hughes from Escondido, CA passed away peacefully at
home with his family by his side, on September 17, 2015, just one day
shy of his 80th birthday. Dick was born on September 18, 1935 to
Lewis and Rowena Hughes.
Throughout Dicks life, he worked as a lineman at Pacific Bell, he
drove ambulance for Superior, and then in 1970, he purchased his own
automotive paint supply store, Hughes Paint and Tool, it was sold in
January 1989. At which time, he became a truck driver for Mar-Con
Products in San Marcos, shortly after, Dick went back into business
for himself as Hughes Pumping (concrete pumper) then retired in 2008.
He loved taking his family camping in the Glamis Sand Dunes, then he
changed gears, and got into boating on the Colorado River. Over the
years Dick has made many friends. He loved to socialize!
Dick is survived by his wife Carol of 55 years, son Richard Hughes,
Jr., of Escondido, daughter Gayle (Joe) Lowery, of Escondido, and
Julie (Troy) Jameson of Fallbrook.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 3:30 pm at
Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido. A celebration of life will
follow at La Tapatilla Restaurant, 340 W. Grand Ave, Escondido.
