Pinky Donovan's Obituary
Pinky Donovan (née Grageda) of San Diego died on June 8th, 2016, in Escondido, CA, a few days after suffering an unexpected brain aneurysm. She was 45.
Pinky is survived by her husband, Dan Donovan; her children, Haley, Kiara, and Megan Donovan; her brother, Jay Grageda; her mother, Emma Munoz; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. She is predeceased by her father, Noe Grageda; and her grandparents.
Pinky was born on February 12th, 1971, in the Philippines to her parents, Noe Grageda and Emma Munoz, and immigrated to Los Angeles, CA, at the age of 13. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1989. She married Dan Donovan on September 27th, 1997, in Redondo Beach, CA. In 1997, 1998, and 2001, she welcomed her three beautiful daughters into the world, who were the most important part of her life. The Donovans moved to San Diego in 2002, where Dan worked in sales and Pinky, after devoting several years to caring for her children full time, worked as an office manager for RBG Financial.
Pinky was a devoted mother and wife, and maintained many friendships from different stages of her life. She enjoyed hosting dinner parties, attending concerts, traveling, going to the beach, drinking white wine, and “retail therapy.” Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with family and friends, and her greatest pride and joy was being a mother to her three beloved daughters. Her family and friends will always remember her as a vibrant, kind-hearted, wonderful person.
A Viewing and Rosary will take place on Sunday, June 12th, from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary in Escondido (225 South Broadway). A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 13th, at 10:00AM at San Rafael Catholic Church in San Diego (17252 Bernardo Center Drive).
