Paul Norman Moltane's Obituary
Mr. Moltane was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edna Marie Moltane, in June of 1995. He is survived by his only child, Carol Halvorson (Pete); special nephew Tom and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Gregory Halvorson (Leslie) and Karen Brown; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Halvorson, Amy Halvorson, Jeff McClesky, Austin Brown and Mitchell Brown; sister-in-law, Barbara Moltane; brother-in-law, Joseph Ligney (Louise); and many nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and in the Navy Armed Guard on the following ships: SS George Gershwin and the SS Bernard N. Baker. He received two Bronze stars and was awarded both the Philippine and Russian Liberation medals. He was a He resided in Escondido for 52 years. He was retired from the City of Escondido Public Works Department. He hand watered many of the trees during the formation of Dixon Dam and lake properties.
