Patrick D. Barrett, Jr.'s Obituary
Pat will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Nancy; his much-loved six kids, Pat Simpson, Susan Simpson, Skip Barrett, Laura Hanson, Becky Tenges, and Sean Barrett and each of their spouses; and his treasured grandchildren; along with countless other friends, clients, business acquaintances, and brother Knights who were blessed to know him. Pat was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Patrick and Lucy Barrett. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1962. He was a longtime resident of Valley Center and died after an unfortunate accident occurred earlier in the week while Pat was do Pat's work as a farrier for over 45 years took him to wherever people had horses. His big smile, jovial manner, larger than life personality, crazy jokes and can-do attitude made him known and loved far and wide throughout San Diego County. Pat's love o Pat and, the love of his life, Nancy, moved to Valley Center in 1973 where in addition to his farrier business, they bred and sold Arabian horses and sold antiques at their ranch, Barrett's Arabians and Antiques. The family wishes to thank the emergency workers, helicopter pilots, doctors, nurses and staff at Scripps Memorial Trauma Center for their heroic efforts to save Pat's life.
