Patricia Ann "Pat" Dowd's Obituary
Pat is survived by her husband, Edward C. Dowd; children, Colleen Kollman (Ken), Patti Billings (Kyle), Kathleen Murphy (Brendan), Erin Shannon (Tim) and Megan Sgroi (Pete); grandchildren, Kathleen, Patrick, Paul and Anne Kollman, Erin and Sean Billings, Clare and Connor Murphy, Quinn, Molly and Katelyn Shannon; Mary, Lucia, Edward, Monica and John Sgroi; and by her sisters, Jane Ryan and Eileen "Beba" Donovan (Patrick); and brothers, Tom and John (Diana) Donovan; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas C. and Mary Donovan; and her sister, Diane Donovan (Robert) Grant. Patricia was born in Chicago, IL. She spent her formative years residing with her family on the far southwest side of Chicago where she attended Christ the King Grade School and the Academy of Our Lady High School. She graduated from St. Mary's College, On November 27, 1965 Pat and Edward C. "Ed" Dowd were married at Christ the King Church, Chicago, IL - both bride and groom had attended this parish grade school. Immediately following their wedding date, Pat and Ed settled in Escondido, CA where they we Pat will long be remembered among her many friends in the St. Mary's and St. Timothy Parish communities of Escondido. She will also be remembered among her far ranging extended family and friends for her outgoing and engaging personality and contributing In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Pat's name to the "Adopt a Student Program" c/o St. Mary's school, 130 E. 13th Ave., Escondido, CA 92025.
