Patricia J. Cook's Obituary
Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you.....
I loved you so -- 'twas Heaven here with you."
-- Ilsa Paschal Richardson
Our beloved Mom, Patricia Jean Cook, passed into heaven on January 31, 2016 due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Pat was born May 19, 1948 to Arnold A. and Barbara J. Lund in Phoenix, Az. The daughter of a Marine Corp Aviator, Pat traveled the world, and graduated from Paris American High School in France. In 1975 Pat met the love of her life Gary. They married soon after and traveled throughout French Polynesia, before returning to Escondido to raise their twins Tyson and Marquesa. Pat was a jovial and devout mother who had an amazing sense of humor and an unforgettable laugh.
Pat had a love for animals. She was an avid equestrian, raised exotic birds, and throughout her life had a dog by her side. She was an incredible hostess and loved having family and friends for the holidays.
She is survived by husband Gary, her son Tyson, his wife Jenni, their daughter Harper and her daughter Marquesa, her husband Brandan, and their children Mara and Macallan. A viewing will be held at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary on Thursday February 4th from 5:00-8:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway on Friday February 5th at 11:00am with reception to follow. Donations may be made in her name to UCSD Shiley Marcos Alzheimer’s Research Center.
