Pasqualina R. Ruby's Obituary
"Lina" as known by all tht knew her and loved her, ws born in Naples, Italy.
After meeting and marrying who she described as the "love of her life" Robert Rudy, a tall handsome American, she embarked on their life's journey to the United States where they settled in San Diego and started their family.
Lina was a wonderful mother, loving her family unconditionally with a warm and tender heart. She nurtured her five children with compassion, kindness and unselfishness. Lina was a strong woman who would be tested throughout life; with the sudden and tragic death of her oldest son, Billy in a motocycle accident in 1982, again in 1992, losing her beloved best friend and husband Bob of 33 years, and then again in 2004 when Lina enjoyed a long career as a cook at Clairemont Community Hospital, and after moving to Escondido in 1976, she continued her career at Palomar Hospital. In all Lina worked 32 years in the food service industry preparing meals for thousands of people n Lina was a great chef, an unbelievably humble woman with the ability to create the most amazing dishes without the use of a recipe or cookbook.
Lina never let a soul pass through her home without preparing a meal. If food could be described as an act of Lina's greatest joy would be her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished dearly.
Lina is survived by her son, Rick and his wife Maryann of Escondido; her daughter, Patty and husband Russ also of Escondido; and daughter, Robin and life partner Leslie
