Miklos Bozzay's Obituary
In loving memory of Miklos Bozzay, born on March 27, 1935, in Korosladany, Hungary, the youngest of nine siblings. His parents were Eszter Toth and Istvan Bozzay. He lost his father when he was just one year old. His mother instilled in him a resilience that carried him through life's challenges. He completed 22 months of service in the Hungarian Army during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Refusing to take orders from the communist leaders, the Hungarian Army joined forces in opposition with their fellow countrymen who were the Freedom Fighters. He worked as a radio operator scanning the airwaves for enemy intelligence gathering. He was a fully armed soldier who never fired a shot. After his military service Miklos forged ahead, earning his engineering degree in Hungary before embarking on a transformative journey to the United States in 1968.
Chicago, Illinois became the canvas of his American dream, where he wove a life enriched by love. In 1972, tragedy struck with the sudden loss of his wife, Rozalia Takacs. Amidst grief, Miklos, left alone to raise two children, discovered solace and purpose, finding strength in faith. His baptism at the Apostolic Christian Church in Chicago in 1974 marked a profound turning point. Fortune smiled upon him again when he met and married Aranka Czebe in 1975, forming a new chapter filled with love and warmth.
Miklos leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his devoted wife, Aranka, and two cherished children: Miklos Jr. and his wife, Yael Bozzay, and Rozalia and her husband, Brian Strassheim. The Bozzay family tree branches into eight beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Michelle and Cristian, Sant and Morgan, Killian and Leah, Quinn, Eleanor, Savannah and River, Zane, and Joshua. Three great-grandchildren, Alyvia, Emileena, and Amoura, complete the beautiful tapestry of his beloved family.
Miklos loved sharing his faith in Jesus. His joyous spirit extended beyond kin, touching the lives of many through his faith and storytelling. He will always be remembered for his long-form jokes loaded with quick wit and humor. He enjoyed family gatherings and loved to spend time with his siblings, extended family and friends. Miklos' role as a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent at the Apostolic Christian Church in Chicago reflected his commitment to community and spiritual growth.
Retiring from his role as a tool engineer/designer in 2001, Miklos embraced a leisurely chapter with Aranka in Sarasota, Florida. In 2017, they transitioned to an independent living apartment at the Apostolic Christian Nursing Home in Rittman, Ohio. Seeking closeness to family in 2022, they settled in Escondido, CA, grateful for the unwavering love and support from the church communities that enriched their journey.
As we bid farewell to Miklos Bozzay, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a narrative etched with love, faith, and the enduring bonds of family and community.
