Mike O. Valdez's Obituary
Mike O. Valdez passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Mike was born on May 13, 1918 in Douglas, Arizona. He moved with his family at the age of five to Escondido where he grew up. During WWII, Mr. Valdez served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific. Mike worked for 31 years at Pacific Union Metal in Los Angeles as a General Plant Foreman before retirement. He returned to Escondido in 1992. Mr. Valdez was a member of VFW Post #1513 and First United Methodist Church. His favorite hobby was long range sport fishing. He is survived by wife, Jane; daughters, Rose Marie Thompson, Juliet Jacobs (Oliver); son Blair Valdez (Sally); step daughters, Linda Homan, Nancy Temelko (John); brother, Pasqual Pereds (Eloise); niece, Rebecca Cruz; seven grandchildren; six great-grandc
