Michael Prior Riffle's Obituary
Michael Riffle was born in Loma Linda, California to Roy and Mabel Lou (Prior) Riffle. At an early age, his parents moved to Escondido, where he grew up. Many summers were spent on Palomar Mountain with his friends and family. He attended local schools and graduated from Escondido High School in 1960. He also attended Palomar College, and graduated in 1971 from the Northern Arizona University with a degree in Forestry and Land Management. He became a member of the "Hot Shot" teams with the US Forestry fighting fires. While attending the University, he was a deputy sheriff for the Coconino County of Arizona. He also worked as a projectionist for the movie theaters as did his father. His pastimes included pre-running and off-road racing in Baja, California and the Southwest. The last two years, he spent restoring his beautiful historic home in Escondido that had been in the family for four generations. Mike was employed as a Project Manager for Vinje and Middleton Engineering for over 30 years. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, John. His sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Ken Telles survive him, along with his "Auntie Gege", a niece, Jenny, Cousins, and dearest friend, Bonnie. His many friends will surely miss him
