My grandfather was an extraordinary individual who inspired countless lives. He lived a remarkably vibrant and purposeful life. I will forever cherish the profound impact he had on his loved ones and community. His voice will eternally resonate in my heart, affectionately whispering “papa papa”.

He was my grandfather, more like a father to me. I feel broken inside but I'm happy that he passed peacefully.

Mike was like an older brother to me and I will miss playing cards with him and hearing all of his stories. He was a man of faith with a kind heart. I know heaven was his destination.
I looked up to Mike because of his many fine qualities. He was always there to help me, or anyone when needed.
We will see each other again one day Mike!
Love,

Mike was the consummate man born of the last century between World Wars. The man held the belief that his responsibility was to his God, his family, his country, and his community, which he served well throughout his entire life.
His intellect and education led him to a stellar career in engineering during our country's effort to make the first trip to the moon and safely return the crew to Earth. He played a role in introducing the world to numerous new products and technologies that we still benefit from today. His family scholarship funded the education of others while he continued to keep abreast of new technologies, science breakthroughs, and politics. He was a character of many facets and interests and an avid reader.
He was a devout Christian, serving God with respect for his Orthodox heritage and for others.
We met him later in life, yet he still held a zest for life and all that he believed. The world has lost a good soul, a patriot, and a man of honor.
You will be missed. Bill and Pat Jensen

Uncle Mike was a lovely person. I enjoyed listening to his stories when he’d visit our family, and he always had Lots of stories!!
Mike was always the smartest guy in the room. I was always amazed at his little garage workshop in Escondido. He was always tinkering with new ideas and fixing things. Mike and Linda were always the most generous adoptive parents of me growing up and always including me in meals and family celebrations. They always put up with my shenanigans when his son, my best friend Ken, and I got together. He was always so up-to-date and sharp on current events as well as other things. I will miss his bone breaking, firm handshake when he would greet me. We will see you again. Thanks for the great memories.
I always enjoyed visiting with Mike at Pete & Elizabeth’s home.
Mike was a brilliant man and shared a lot of valuable information with me.
I’ll sure miss visiting with him.
Rest in peace Mike and your bright light, brilliance and fond memories will live with your family and friends

I love Uncle Mike! He exuded love, kindness and humility except when playing cards haha.
One of my earlier memories was in about 1964
When auntie Linda and uncle Mike owned the A-1 motel. Uncle dunked me in the swimming pool and got a big laugh out of that. I’ll miss
His sharp mind, sense of humor, kindness and love. I won’t miss his bone crushing handshake however.
