Michael Martin's Obituary
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 13 years, Charlotte Nelson-Martin; sons Scott of Temecula, Christopher of Aliso Viejo and Jason Martin of San Francisco; father Cleatus Claire Martin of Mineola, Texas; sister Jan Ladelle Martin of San Diego; stepchildren Carrie, William, Shelley, Mitchell, Melanie, Elizabeth and Julianne Nelson, all of Puma Valley; six grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology from San Diego State University. He worked on the Operation Sea Lab as a psychological research consultant. He wrote concert and record reviews for the Free Press. He was a social worker for the County of San Diego for 10 years. He identified with the Native American culture and adopted it as his own.
He served, counseled and represented the consortiums of Native American Indians in San Diego County and Arizona. He worked for the Indian Health Council Inc. from 1978 to 1994. H
