Max H. Sargent's Obituary
He was preceded in death by his lovely bride of 50 years, Reva Wilhelm Sargent; brother, Hollis Sargent; sister, Elaine Sargent Jex; nephew, Nolan Jex. He is survived by his son Alan Sargent (Teri); daughter, Linda Wisdom (Gary); grandchildren, Beth Christensen and Robert Sargent; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Emma and Addisyn Christensen; nephews and nieces, Brent Jex, Dale Wilhlem, Diane Bankston and Debbie Fitzgerald. He enlisted in the United States Merchant Marines and served his country in World War II as a fireman on the Merchant Victory Ship "SS Mello Franco." His tour in the South Pacific Theatre was to provide supplies for U.S. Troops in the invasion of Mainlan He graduated from Ucon High School in 1941. He was class Vice President and voted most popular. He worked in the Richmond, CA shipyards prior to enlisting in the Merchant Marines. He lived in Escondido for 60. He was a member of the Escondido Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, and American Legion and Church of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed 30 years of retir Donations may be made to Elizabeth Hospice.
