Mary Louise Davis' Obituary
Mary Louise Davis was born near Maryville, Missouri to Mabel Outs and Chester Maurer Peterson. Her childhood was spent on the plains of eastern Colorado and in the Colorado Springs area. In 1928, her family moved to Van Nuys, CA where she entered the tenth grade at Van Nuys High School. Following high school graduation, Mary Lou's studies continued at Santa Barbara State College and UCLA. She was active in her church, and there met her future husband, Jesse Marvin Davis. After a five-year engagement, they were married on August 15, 193 Mary Lou was a devoted mother and an active, involved minister's wife. Her artistic ability was evident in her drawings, in the pieces she crafted from copper, silver and brass, and in her pottery. Her life-long passion was genealogy and family history. After retirement in 1975, Mary Lou and Marvin moved to their hillside citrus ranch in Valley Center, CA. They enjoyed 25 years in these serene surroundings with a magnificent view of Palomar Mountain and always welcomed and encouraged visits from family Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Ruth Perkins and Helen Allison; and her husband of 65 years, J.
