Mary Ellen Phillips' Obituary
Mary was born Mary Ellen Senna on the 25th of March 1940 in the city of New Bedford, MA.. As a child, her family moved to Fairhaven, MA where she grew into an intelligent, kind and loving young woman. She graduated from Fairhaven High School in 1958 and enrolled in the Cape Cod Nursing School. Upon the death of her mother, she left school and married the love of her life Jack Phillips a United States Marine. They departed Massachusetts and began their life together. Mary was a loving mother of two children, a daughter Joanne and a son Jack Jr. She has four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. During their years with the Military, they lived in North Carolina, Hawaii, South Carolina, Massachusetts and California where she lived out her remaining years. Mary also leaves behind two sisters Joyce and Carol. Mary is preceded in death by her Mother Laura and Father Raymond Senna and children Dianne, John, Janice and Raymond. She was employed by Sears for a number of years. After Sears, she worked at Palomar Hospital until her retirement. During these years, she developed life time friendships with numerous great friends. Mary and Jack took up Ball room dancing for several years and her dancing years became some of the happiest and memorable times of her life.
Her life took a devastating turn for the worse when her home and all her worldly passions were destroyed by fire. She is now with the Lord in a better place, free of pain and suffering.
