Mary L. Michael's Obituary
On the evening of January 12, 2015, Mary passed away at the age of 83 at Palomar Medical Center after a bout with pneumonia. She was born February 4, 1931, to wonderful parents, Vern and Delpha Murray of Long Beach, CA and was an only child.
Mary was born and raised in Long Beach. She married Loren Michael of Norwalk, Ca, and had three sons: Larry, Keith, and Scott. After the passing of Loren Michael in 1959, she moved to Escondido with her new husband, “Big” Holly Morford, her sons Larry, Keith and Scott, as well as Holly’s two daughters, “Little” Holly and Dolly. In 1961, Mary and “Big” Holly had a daughter, Tammy.
Mary worked at the Registrar of Voters in San Diego making the commute from Escondido to San Diego for approximately 25 years. After retiring, Mary loved to visit with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mary also loved her TV and to watch the movies she had accumulated over the years. Mary loved her hot rods and put dual pipes on her Mustang at the age of 70.
Mary was preceded in death by husbands, Loren Michael and “Big” Holly Morford; son Larry Michael and daughter Dolly Morford. Mary is survived by her sons Keith and Scott Michael of Escondido; daughter Holly Morford of Louisiana; and Tammy Morford Boyden of Big Bear, CA; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary on January 21, 2015 at 11:00 am. The graveside service will follow immediately at the Valley Center Cemetery.
