Mary "Polly" Johnson's Obituary
Mary Pauline "Polly" Johnson June 25, 1923 - March 13, 2018 Escondido Mary "Polly" Johnson was born in Youngstown, Ohio, and lived in Escondido since 1986. She was preceded in death in 2009 by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lawrence "Larry" Johnson. They were longtime members of the First United Methodist Church of Escondido, and were actively involved in Masonic, Shriner and Eastern Star activities, both serving as officers. She was a Past Matron of the White Bear Chapter of OES, White Bear Lake, Minnesota. She worked as a legal secretary in Minnesota and Escondido over 30 years. Mary is survived by her niece, Carole McAleer of North Fort Myers, Florida, and family; her cousin, Carl Racketa of Girard, Ohio, and his family; her sister-in-law, Beverly Lee, of Irvine, CA, and her family; several other cousins, nieces and nephews with whom she kept in frequent contact; and many, many friends in the Escondido area. A memorial service will be held at Alhiser-Comer Funeral Home, Escondido, on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. Burial will be a scattering of her and Larry's ashes at sea.
