I have fond memories of Martha, dating back many years while living in Reno. where I helped a young Martha deal with cantankerous issues with her well-used vehicle.. Regarding the comment in her obituary about being able to "fix things",I recall an evening not too long ago, when she called, requesting guidance in repairing some tricky 2-way light switch wiring in a bedroom.Rather than calling an electrician, she became an electrician that night, learning about color codes.and what not to touch. We patted ourselves on the back knowing she had fooled Mother Nature by repairing without any catastrophic shocks - she solved the switch problem! She was a worldly person with many interests, and an infectious sense of humor. It was hard to pull off anything on her - I tried on occasion, but she was fast to see what was going on!. During her visits,we often sat up late at night discussing many subjects. On a recent visit, I took her on a 4-wheel vehicle drive around a small rural lake here in Nevada. She had a love of nature - all things big and small.
My family and I will miss her very much.Where have the years gone? It seems like yesterday when she was a young lady in Nevada about to embark on her career with AT&T, and now she has embarked on the long journey we all must take. I am confident her journey will be a blessed one. She has earned it. ..
