Margaret Rayburn Bates passed away on August 11, 2013, at the age of 89, Margaret was the daughter of John and Martha Dawes. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, James Bates; as well as her children: Dennis (Leo) Bates, Diana Anderson, Kathy Bates-Lande (Doug) and Gayle (Marianne) Bates. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numero Margaret and James co-owned, and worked at Bates Bros. Nut Farm in the early years of their marriage. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a homemaker, gardener, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
