Margaret Lilley's Obituary
Margaret Sullivan Lilley, 102, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at her Rancho Bernardo home. Margaret was born on December 14, 1910 in Ohio to parents Joseph and Maude Sullivan. Margaret grew up in a small town in Northern Ohio, and attended local schools and college, where she received a teaching credential. She played violin in a chamber music group and later received a Bachelor of Education Degree from San Diego State College Mrs. Lilley taught in the San Diego Unified School District before teaching at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in La Mesa and at Blessed Sacrament School in San Diego. She will be remembered by her family for consistently managing a good sense of humor. She is survived by son, John J. Lilley MD and his spouse, Mary L. Sanfelippo MD of Escondido; nephews, John Hassenplug of Lake Tahoe, CA, and Jim Sullivan of Reston, VA; and a niece, Carol Stapler of New Hampshire. She was preceded in death by her husban In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Margaret's name to Father Joe's Villages, www.neighbor.org.
