Mandelbaum Carmen Rickards' Obituary
Carmen Rickards Mandelbaum, 94, passed away peacefully with family at her side at her Escondido home on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 Carmen was born on April 12, 1918 in Manila, Philippines. She married Frederick Mandelbaum on November 30, 1940. After surviving the WWII Japanese occupation they moved to California. Mrs. Mandelbaum was the General Manager of a successful escrow company in Los angeles and Orange Counties before her retirement. The Mandelbaums moved to Escondido in 1980. She enjoyed family gatherings, travels, and Bingo. She is survived by husband, Frederick; children, Carmen Lostetter Multhauf, Frederick "Rick" Mandelbaum and his wife Margo; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchilren; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Carmen's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
