Mahin Heydari's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Mahin Heydari
December 22, 1938 – June 19, 2025
Mahin Heydari, affectionately known as “Mana”, “Mamman Mahin,” and “Mahin Joon”, to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on June 19, 2025, at Palomar Medical Center in Poway, California. She was 86 years old.
Born in Broujerd, Iran, Mahin was the cherished daughter of Ghamar M-Goodarzi and Sadegh Heydari and was lovingly raised by her father and her stepmother, Sorour Aghdas Ketabchi, whom she always considered her affectionate mother.
Mahin married at a young age to Hadi Khorrami, with whom she built a beautiful life until his tragic passing in a car accident when she was in her late twenties. A devoted wife and mother, Mahin dedicated the rest of her life to her children.
She is survived by her brothers, Majid, Mohammad, and Mahmood, her sisters, Nahid, Mahboobeh, Mojghan, Nina, Giti, Nasrin, and Azar, and her beloved children, Farshid (Allen) Khorrami (Nina Skumatova), Jam Khorrami (Mina Nami), Farshad Khorrami (Brenda Homick), and Fereshteh Khorrami.
Mahin’s pride and joy were her grandchildren: Kia, Kiana, Michael, Robert, Soroush, and Kaumron, each of whom brought light and laughter to her days.
Mahin was a woman of strength, humor, and grace. She found immense joy tending to her flowers and plants with the same gentle care she gave to those around her. She loved playing games, especially backgammon, where she reigned as an enthusiastic and often unbeatable player.
In her later years, Mahin found great companionship and comfort at the Adult Day Health Care Center and Los Arcos Senior Living, in Poway, California. Her bright laughter and generous spirit lit up the room, bringing happiness to friends and caregivers alike.
Mahin’s life was not without hardship. More than two decades ago, she survived a devastating bus accident and endured over two years of recovery. Yet through every challenge, her resilience never wavered. She met life’s difficulties with unwavering courage and grace, remaining a beacon of hope and strength for her family and friends.
Her legacy is not only one of endurance, but of joy woven into the laughter of her loved ones, blooming in the gardens she tended, and living on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She will be remembered always with love, admiration, and deepest affection.
A memorial and celebration of Mahin’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, with Service from 1:00pm-2:00pm and a Reception/meet the family from 2:00pm-5:00pm. at Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, 225 S. Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025.
