Louis "Lou" Wilhelm's Obituary
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Winna of Escondido, CA; daughters, Linda Wilhelm Miller (Jeff), and Melissa Kay Wilhelm (Jim); a nephew, Tom Wilhelm (Missey); six grandchildren, Kim Bowder, Kris Englehardt, Kiersten Betschel, Brandy Miller, Lucas Ryan, and Michael McKee; and six great-grandchildren, Ashylnn, Eric, Dalton, Delaney, Jayden and Cody. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Ann Fehlber and her husband Tom. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII including the battle of Iwo Jima where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Lou married Winna Judd, his high school sweetheart, on September 20, 1941. They lived in St. Louis, MO for many years before moving to Escondido in 1982. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1952, a Shriner for more than 25 years, was active in th Lou enjoyed golf (he was a scratch golfer for many years), cards, traveling with his wife and spending time with family and friends. At the request of the family services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Lou's name to the Disabled American Veterans - www.dav.org.
